FAQ: How do the subscriptions, trials, and cancellations work?
Posted on July 14, 2016
There’s been some questions asked about signing up for trials and subscriptions for the few paid plugins offered, so it seems a good idea to talk about how that works to make sure everyone is as informed as possible.
Subscribing
To subscribe to a plugin, simply click the Subscribe button for it and enter your PayPal information. Within a minute or two, you should receive an email with your license key. Punch in that license key to the plugin settings and you’re ready to go. Your subscription will automatically renew monthly or yearly, depending on your preference.
Cancelling
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Just be aware that the license key is directly tied to the subscription status. So, if you cancel the subscription to prevent it from automatically renewing, it will deactivate the license key. If you want to use the subscription until the time it up but don’t want to renew, please wait until the subscription is about to expire before cancelling. In the future there may be the ability to continue using a subscription until the expected end of the term after cancelling the subscription, but it’s not currently possible. Again, if you want to continue using the subscription but don’t want to renew it, please wait until the end of the existing term before cancelling.
Free Trials
For plugins with a free trial, you need not do anything special to get the trial. You don’t have to email support, ask nicely, or stand on your head. Simply subscribe using your PayPal information. The trial will start automatically for the available term – you will not be immediately billed. At the end of the trial, the paid subscription will start and your PayPal account will be billed automatically. Should you cancel before the trial term is up, you will not be billed anything. Once the trial is up and you are billed, you need not do anything to continue using the subscription. The license key will continue to work normally as long as you stay subscribed.
So, that’s not so bad, right? Hopefully this clears up any questions about how the subscriptions work. If you still have questions, feel free to ask via email and those questions will be answered.
