LabTech Plugin: Notify
Posted on July 16, 2015
This plugin will allow you to send notifications to contacts within LabTech using:
- Phone calls through CDyne Phone Notify!
- Text messages through Twilio
- Push notifications to Android/iOS via Push Bullet
- Push notifications to Android/iOS via PushOver
- New! Slack channels can now be notified
- New! Dweet.io things can now be posted
Notifications can be sent with an alert template and can be set to fire with monitors as the alert template or with a script using the LTServer Call Alert Template script function. Notifications are built by simply specifying the delivery type (call, twiliotext, pushbullet, pushover) and message, as well as an optional title for push notifications. The use of PushOver does require the purchase of the PushOver app from iOS/Android/PC and is $5 per platform. CDyne.com and Twilio.io have their own subscription costs as well based on usage. Combine this tool with our On Call Rotator plugin and you have a powerful option to allow you to send notifications of various types to any individual you have scheduled.
Because this app has a number of configurations available, we’ve create a simple help file to assist with navigating it and getting it set up. It’s integrated in the plugin and can be accessed by clicking the Help button from the Dashboard\Config\Integration\Notify tab. And because there’s so many ways to “notify” different services (see what I did there?), a Message Builder is available via View->Notify Message Builder. This tool will help you generate the string needed to send a message to the right service within your alert template or script.
The plugin is available by subscription and includes a free 2 week trial. The setup only takes a minute and you can have notifications firing off in 20 minutes or less. To subscribe (and start your trial), choose an option below for monthly or yearly subscription and click the button. You’ll receive your license key and download shortly.
Download and install using our plugin installer!
