The Plugin Installer works again…kind of
Posted on May 26, 2021
Back in January with the release of CWA 2021.1, ConnectWise made it so that users can’t directly access the database, more or less. The plugin installer was using this access to make installing plugins easy. Unfortunately we’ve not found a reasonable workaround for this and have instead changed the behavior of the plugin installer. Upon opening it, you will now simply select the plugin you want and click Install – no credentials needed. It will write the needed SQL information to a file on your computer and you can then import this into the thick client. This isn’t as easy as we’d like, but at least it provides some usability for now. The UI is going to currently stay unchanged with the exception of disabling the fields for entering credentials. This is in hopes of getting a more automated approach available again.
As always, the plugin installer is available here.
